Dugas Kennels is nested in the Heart of the IllinoisValley in southern Oregon. Located near the small town of Selma, on a nine acre ranch.

I have been breeding Dogs my whole life, But not until 2001 did I decided to only breed German line Shepherds. I, like Lots of Shepherd owners had seen the breed standards dropping. The Brains were being replaced with to much Drive.

My number one goal in breeding the lines that I do is to get; healthy, easy trained, loyal, and protective dogs. We also want our dogs to not inconvenience your everyday life, but instead be a blessing to have by your side in times of Need. My in house breeding program is refined to the best of east - west & Czech lines. These lines I can match to maintain the temperament and health that I get. I breed for working lines with lots of push button drive, and have the brains to know when to stop. My private training center has many trails through forest and creeks witch work great for tracking and rescue. The top side of the ranch has a two acre fence pasture where we do all are Schutzhund Training.

Because of the lines that I have, I will not breed back to back. I feel that it is not good to breed a dog until they are 2 years old and have O.F.A hips and elbows. Because of that, I only average two litters a year. My litters are normally spoken for before I breed by being placed on a selling list.
